✨imagination✨ (poem)

I’ve let my imagination run away

she’s off collecting flowers to toss in front of our path

it’s all soft lighting and smooth edges here

not the only one stripped to the bone, this time

we are both screaming

    I am here

    can you see me

this is bold and bleeding and alive

and we mustn't know anything else but this feeling

there’s nothing quite like here

    nothing better than these moments

    distractions

    velvet daydreams

lace coverings over this glass affection

    it’s fragile, like us

we test ourselves against wall of bad timing

climb up the rooted and vined longing

            we cannot help ourselves

I’d love to know you

this way folds into the next snow-soft silence

we cannot help ourselves

            we’ve tucked into safe arms

the comfort of knowing there is a world inside us to learn

           but we are right now

           right now

           right now
